Clarification, Evaluation, and Developpement of the Idea
In Connection with the Submission to the Templeton World Charity Foundation
This page aims to clarify the intellectual, scientific, and institutional framework of the project presented within the context of the Global Call for Ideas of the Templeton World Charity Foundation. It seeks to make explicit the main lines of inquiry, the theoretical issues at stake, and the prospects for the project’s development within an academic and transdisciplinary framework.
1. Starting Point: The Shuttle and Missile Objection
The first step, in my view, is a rigorous evaluation of the so-called “Shuttle and Missile Objection.” From my perspective, this objection is unavoidable. As I do not have formal scientific training, I chose to present this demonstration in a book rather than in a peer-reviewed journal article. This choice is explained by the initial difficulty of formulating this work within a standard academic framework.
Gradually, through the criticisms addressed to my approach, I came to understand that contemporary physics also relies on an implicit philosophical framework that justifies certain theoretical positions. It took me time to decipher its underlying assumptions.
Some scientists already challenge the postulate of the invariance of the speed of light or the standard relativistic representation of space-time. However, it remains difficult to arrive at a coherent and widely shared demonstration. The Shuttle and Missile Objection is intended precisely to address this difficulty.
2. Hypothesis of a Dependence of the Speed of Light on the Spatial Configuration
My entire line of reasoning leads me to affirm that the speed of light depends on the spatial configuration. This results in a fundamental conceptual difference with the consequences of the invariance of c as it is postulated in special relativity, whether formulated within Einstein’s theoretical framework or within that of Lorentz. This position should be open to experimental verification:

However, it still needs to be rigorously formalized. This represents a possible field of work for one or more physicists. If this hypothesis were confirmed, it would lead toward a fully relational conception of space and motion.
3. Toward a Relational and Causal Conception of Motion
A relational conception of space and motion leads to a reconsideration of the necessity of an actual cause for any motion. Since such a cause cannot be purely mechanical, this invites consideration of the existence of a non-material driving principle acting in an immanent and relational manner. Such reasoning naturally requires epistemological and philosophical support and could have implications in theology.
4. Conceptual Postulate and Transdisciplinary Approach
IIt is appropriate to examine what the notions of a ‘conceptual postulate’ and a ‘system of thought’, as I approach them in my works, can contribute to transdisciplinary reflection. This postulate aims to identify structuring principles enabling a rethinking of the fundamental concepts of physics within a coherent relational framework capable of integrating both relativity and quantum physics.
5. General Architecture of the Approach
• A technical objection concerning the internal coherence of relativity, particularly regarding simultaneity.
• A proposal for a relational approach to space-time.
• The hypothesis of a causal principle irreducible to purely mechanical dynamics, serving as an ontological foundation.
The objective is to examine the robustness of this conceptual architecture and to assess its scientific and epistemological scope. This approach follows the transdisciplinary framework developed by Basarab Nicolescu, particularly in the articulation of levels of reality and in the requirement of coherence between science and philosophy.
6. Objectives with Regard to CIRET
• Rigorous scientific and philosophical exchange,
• A reasoned critical evaluation,
• Possible institutional support,
• Integration into a structured academic framework.
The International Center for Transdisciplinary Research and Studies (CIRET) could provide a relevant framework to support this work, in a form to be jointly defined.
7. Perspective Related to the Templeton World Charity Foundation
Should the idea submitted to the Templeton World Charity Foundation generate interest, an institutional structure would be necessary to receive the funds, ensure their management, and oversee the scientific development of the project. In this perspective, CIRET could constitute an appropriate host structure. This page contributes to a transparent approach regarding the possible governance framework of the project.
8. Methodology and Working Modalities
Initially, I favor in-depth written work. It would be desirable to develop a concise framing document presenting the central question, methodology, hypotheses, debatable points, and development perspectives.
Complementary formats could then be considered: academic articles, seminars, explanatory videos, student production competitions, and collaborations with science communicators.

Context and clarification
In the development of this reflection, I have encountered a wide range of reactions, sometimes marked by a tone that is more emotional than strictly scientific. This illustrates the difficulty of addressing questions that touch upon deeply established conceptual frameworks: it is not uncommon for intellectual debates to be accompanied by forms of resistance before the substance of the issues can be examined with serenity.
More generally, it seems understandable to me that it may be difficult for a scientific community to acknowledge that a possible logical flaw could have gone unnoticed for more than a century. My work is based precisely on this point, which I formulate as follows:
Furthermore, I encountered editorial and distribution difficulties: following the bankruptcy of Chapitre.com, some of my books continued to be marketed on various platforms without monitoring or payment of royalties. In order to ensure controlled distribution and proper respect for authors’ rights, certain editions were republished through services providing appropriate tracking — in particular Et si Einstein s’était trompé sur un point capital dans son analyse aboutissant à la relativité restreinte ? and Paradox of the Invariance of the Speed of Light (the English edition of my most recent book). Steps have also been taken with the publisher concerned to have earlier editions withdrawn, but no response has been received to date.
These elements do not alter the substance of the argument presented on this page, but they provide useful context for understanding the need for a thorough and publicly accessible process of clarification.
